“What the mind of man can conceive, it can achieve.”

Napoleon Hill

What is your mind conceiving?  To conceive means to form or develop in your mind.

It talks about in the bible that the people without vision will perish.

This is serious stuff, with a vision a dream we perish we just run around and around in circles hoping that we will arrive somewhere.

Does this describe you?

Then be encouraged.

Today right now or in a minute, I want you to find a nice quiet spot, turn the phone off, computer off, children off and grab a pen and piece of paper.

Right now that it is silent I want you to close your eyes and begin to dream.  Think about how you want things to look. How do you see yourself, fit, healthy, standing tall and proud.  How do you see your finances, abundance overflowing so that you can give much away.  What does the house look like that you are living in.  What does the car look like that you are driving?  How do you picture yourself as you are walking down the street.  What makes you smile?

Everyone  is really looking and wanting for the same things.

  1. To Be Happy!
  2. To Be Healthy!
  3. To Be Reasonably Prosperous
  4. To Be Secure
  5. To Have Friends
  6. To Have Peace of Mind
  7. To Have Good Family Relationships
  8. To Have Hope

Many of these things are open to change and that could be instant and dramatic.  You can have it all one day and loose it the next.

Coming back to dreaming big, how big is your dream as it will be the dream that will see you pick yourself back up when the going is tough and winning the race that is set before you.

Keep dreaming, write the dream down, visit it daily, you might write it up and put it on your fridge so you can read it often.  Begin to live as if it is already happening, see yourself the person you want to be.  You will be surprised how amazing our minds out and how they work for good.

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart

Continuing on with winning in your MLM business today I want to talk about following your heart

To begin with you need to follow your heart.  Without passion and purpose you may start off well but you won’t finish the race.

Following your heart will ensure you will have something deep within to keep you going when you could consider stopping.  You may need to stop right now before going any further and decide what it is that you want to follow.

If time and money was not an issue what would be the thing that you would be doing right now?  Feel free to leave a comment with what this might look like.

There might be more then just one thing, that’s ok but you need to write them all done.

If time and money wasn’t an issue for me I would spend all my time helping others in whatever way possible.  I love and enjoy encouraging and motivating others and building long lasting and meaningful relationships.  Seeing others achieve their dreams and goals is what inspires and motivates me.

So you have spent some quiet time and identified your heart purpose.  Then you need to begin to look for an opportunity that will allow you to grow and develop in this area.

Don’t rush into this area as there are literally 1000′s and 1000′s of opportunities out there that are offering the next best juice, pills, cream, holiday and so much more.  How do I know???  Ah I have tried a few.

So look forward to reading your comments and connecting again real soon.

Life Values

Life Values

Posted on 15. Jun, 2010 by Julia Mitchell.

Our values are a critical ingredient in the ‘culture’ we adopt and ‘culture’ either propels us towards our goals or hinders us in reaching those goals. By ‘culture’ I am not referring to your nationality or the national ‘culture’ you were born into or grew up with, but rather the ‘culture’ you have adopted in life.

Culture is the word we use to describe the behaviour, beliefs, values and world view of an identifiable group of people … as we join that group or identify with them, their culture moulds our lifestyle. For example, if I was to join a street gang I would quickly be behaving, thinking, speaking, etc, like them … I would adopt their belief system and their view of the world.

All of these become established in our life as a consequence of the IDENTITY we adopt.

In an organization, if the leadership does not proactively establish a desired ‘culture’ for that organization, the culture will develop out of the combined culture’s and mindsets of the individuals who make up that organization.

What is true for an organisation is also true for us as individuals, if we do not think about and proactively establish the ‘culture’ of our life, that ‘culture’ (Behaviour, Beliefs, Values and World view) will be established for us by other people, our environment, our past experiences, etc.

Culture reproduces after its own kind … automatically … works for you or against you … we MUST create the right culture in order to fulfil our objectives … it is something we must DO … be proactive about.

I remember some years ago hearing Pastor Steve Penny speaking about ‘Kingdom Culture’ from the perspective of the culture of a local church. It was a very insightful teaching, the main points of which I am including here. It is not only a great example of the kind of culture a local church should have but also is a great guide as to the kind of personal ‘culture’ any serious Christian should adopt … after all, a local church is only the sum of all the individuals that make up the congregation.

Matthew 25:21 – ‘Well done, good and faithful servant …’

Five Words Defining Kingdom Culture … If we want to receive this commendation from the Father, we must live up to it now.

‘Well’ … This is EXCELLENCE by choice

This is making the commitment to … choose the way of EXCELLENCE in everything

‘Done’ … This is doing WHATEVER it takes to get the job done.

This is making the commitment to … PERSEVERE and do whatever it takes

‘Good’ … This deals with our HEARTS

This is making the commitment to … maintain a GOOD heart and a positive ATTITUDE

‘Faithful’ … This is about enduring in FAITH

This is making the commitment to … endure in FAITH and COURAGE

‘Servant’ … This is about the fact that we are called to SERVE the Kingdom of God

This is making the commitment to … SERVE the purposes of God

In church life we have many people who identify with a Christian value system in general … who identify with a Christian community in general, BUT who never fully identify with the description of victorious Christian living that the Bible describes … they lack the discipline and motivation to make the changes necessary.

As an individual (business, church or any other sort of organisation), the values and culture we adopt will either drive us towards the fulfillment of our vision, or drive us away from that objective.

Fast Forward through Feedback

Fast Forward through Feedback

Fast Forward Through Feedback

We engage in a process of personal development and growth in order to become more productive in life, to achieve our objectives, to operate with greater wisdom, to be more effective and fulfilled.

One of the great principles of personal development is learning how to Fastforward through Feedback! Successful people have learnt how to process feedback and fastforward their personal and professional success.

Guess what’s going to happen … Once you begin to be more proactive with your life and take positive steps to develop and achieve your objectives, you’ll start getting feedback about whether you’re doing the right thing or not. You’ll get all sorts of advice, help, suggestions, direc tion, and even criticism that will help you constantly adjust and move for ward while continually developing your knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and relationships.

‘Feedback is the breakfast of champions’ – KEN BLANCHARD AND SPENCER JOHNSONCo-authors of The One Minute Manager

Receiving feedback is really only the first part of the equa tion. Once you receive feedback, you have to decide what to do with it … you have to evaluate it honestly … you have to be willing to respond to it.

THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF FEEDBACK … you will encounter – negative and positive. We tend to prefer the positive – that is, good results, praise, a raise, a pro motion, satisfied customers, winning awards, increased happiness, inner peace, etc. It all feels better. It tells us that we are on course, that we are doing the right thing.

We tend not to like negative feedback – lack of results, little or no money, criticism, poor evaluations, being passed over for a raise or a promotion, com plaints, strained relationships, unhappiness, inner conflict, loneliness, etc. However, there is as much useful data in negative feedback as there is in positive feedback. It tells us that we are off course, headed in the wrong direction, doing the wrong thing. That is also valuable information.

In fact, it’s so valuable that one of the most powerful changes you could make is to change how you feel about negative feedback. Negative feedback is information about “improvement opportunities.” The world is telling you where and how you can improve.

Denis Waitley: “When you seek support and feedback, be sure it is from people who are truly interested in seeing you succeed …Get feedback from someone who is on your side but will still be objective and brutally honest with you.

Motives and fears run deep. Study them in others. The manager who supports you and comforts you when you’re down may like you best when you are in just that state: down and dependent. When you start succeeding beyond his expectations and comfort level, he may be among the first to get you to back off, limit your horizons and lower your goals. Recognize this feedback for the insecurity it is. It will rarely be objective or well-intentioned.

Even parents and significant family members aren’t immune to emotional conflicts that can pollute their feedback. Many relatives and siblings have difficulty accepting the success of others in the family or encouraging further success.

Ultimately, nobody is responsible for your life but you. Nobody is accountable for your actions but you. Therefore, nobody’s expectations for you and opinions about you are as important as your own. So make sure your opinions take precedence in your mind over all others, and when you do need to consult with someone else, think very carefully before you choose exactly who.”

Fastforward through feedback …

1. Give the feedback honest evaluation.

2. Make a realistic response to the feedback.

3. Analyse the feedback from different points of view.

4. Assess the accuracy of the feedback.

5. Make strategic changes where the feedback establishes the need for that.

…. then, move on!

Don’t stay camped around negative feedback, ‘navel gazing’.

Until next time …

Kevin

How Much Are You Worth?

How Much Are You Worth?

Posted on 14. Jun, 2010 by Julia Mitchell.

1943 Silver Penny - Made Out Of Steel, Coated With Zinc, To Save Copper For War Efforts At The TimeI always find it interesting watching and listening to people as they gather around a resource table at the end of some seminar or presentation. They come to ‘check out’ the Speakers resources. The question that seems to be uppermost in people’s minds is, “Is this CD, DVD, Book or training worth the asking price?”

While it’s a valid consideration, it reveals a flaw in peoples thinking. When it comes to personal education or development, the question is not, “Is this resource worth what they’re asking?” the real question is, “Am I worth this investment?”

It isn’t what the book costs; it’s what it will cost if you don’t read it.

How Much Are You Worth?

It has been well said, that to earn more, you have to learn more!

“A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions.” - Oliver Wendell Holmes

If you are not happy with some area of your life … your finances …your marriage … your health and fitness … your relationships … your business, and you want that to improve, it means you either have to learn something you currently don’t know, or you have to apply something you do know but are not applying.

Wisdom is the application of knowledge … the world is full of educated derelicts … people who know all sorts of things but lack the wisdom to apply them in day to day life.

Achievers – whether in business, sports or the arts are committed to continual improvement. If you want to be more successful, you need to be committed to ongoing personal development and that means investing in yourself.

The real question is not can I afford that resource … is it worth it? But rather, What will it cost me NOT to invest in this resource? What am I missing out on today because I didn’t invest in my self-improvement yesterday?

“No one limits your growth but you. If you want to earn more, learn more. That means you’ll work harder for a while; that means you’ll work longer for a while. But you’ll be paid for your extra effort with enhanced earnings down the road.” —Tom Hopkins

How much have you invested in personal development over the last year … five years?

We ALWAYS have time and money for what is important to us.

I remember that recently while speaking at a seminar, I mentioned a personal development course that costs around two thousand dollars and seeing the shocked look on the faces of some people … the idea of investing that sort of money in their personal growth had never entered their mind … they thought they couldn’t afford it … it wasn’t worth it … reality is that often people are frustrated, living with unfulfilled dreams and just ‘hoping’ ‘something’ will work out BECAUSE they don’t invest in themselves.

In the light of the rest of your life, I would suggest that YOU are well worth the investment of two thousand dollars!

If you haven’t got that sort of money available right now, start with where you’re at. Start buying good books … read a good personal growth book every month … start attending some seminars that will help you grow in areas that you need to develop … go on, you’re worth it!

“If you want to be truly successful, invest in yourself to get the knowledge you need to find your unique factor. When you find it and focus on it and persevere, your success will blossom.” - Sydney Madwed

It is only an investment in personal growth that will help you identify your passion and purpose … you have to learn some things … you have to evaluate some things … you have to have some tools and processes to assist you do that.

I recently heard Dr Dave Martin refer to the two most important days in your life … the day you were born … and the day you discovered what you were born for! The journey to that discovery often takes people much longer than we would think … it is a journey of personal discovery … a journey of personal development … a journey of learning.

Because of family circumstances, I left school after only two years of secondary education. The majority of my learning has taken place after my formal education came to an end. I never got to College or University but I have devoured books, attended countless seminars and training events, went to ‘night-school’ for years, studied subjects by ‘correspondence’ (as it was in those days). We have invested thousands of dollars in personal development and learning.

We recently moved house and while I have a large office and book shelves in another room, I still had to give away seven large boxes of books … our church librarian thought it was Christmas! I have had to do that twice before … Why? Because we have an insatiable desire for learning and growth.

To be more effective and productive … to maximise our achievements we must invest in personal growth … How much are you worth?

“We have an innate desire to endlessly learn, grow and develop. We want to become more than what we already are. Once we yield to this inclination for continuous and never-ending improvement, we lead a life of endless accomplishments and satisfaction.” - Chuck Gallozzi

I have come to the conviction that spiritual growth on its own is not enough … we must grow holistically … in every area of life … we have too many Christians that can pray and prophesy and quote Scripture but who don’t do life well … don’t make good decisions … don’t look after their health and fitness … don’t build a stable asset base … always dreaming but never living in the dream … it is ALWAYS a matter of personal development … there is something we need to know … something we need to learn … some wisdom we need to gain.

Whenever you set out to improve your skills, change your behaviour, or better your family life or business, it will ALWAYS require an investment of money, time and effort.

So, How much are you worth?

Until next time …

Kevin

Home Based Business and Motivation Tips

Home Based Business and Motivation Tips

Home Based Business and Motivation Tips

If you have done all that you have to do in setting up yourhome based business and motivation on your part is still low; there is no reason to panic.  After putting all that is expected to start your business: choosing the right product, advertising, blogging, writing out and implementing the correct business plan.  Look, you have even attended all the business courses you could and now you are expecting great results.  Here are some tips to help you along the way:

  • Tenacity and Persistence is the name of the game:when expecting a great harvest, you must exercise greater patience and faith, because great things do not happen overnight.  Dig in and refuse to be moved when you experience some set-backs. Remember to invest more time and effort for the business.  In the early stages of your business, just like all other businesses do, it will tend to demand more from you. It is very important to stay focused and steady, giving more of your time to the work in the beginning.  You might have started with good profits and sometimes noticed it dipping on occasions, but this should not worry you.
  • Have Faith and Confidence: it is true that sometimes all businesses, at one point or the other, will experience some hardship.  If such a time comes, a period where your business is experiencing temporary set- backs, it might affect you all round – emotionally, financially and physically.  Whatever happens, remember not to allow the business to control your emotions and to take over your whole life.  Remember your life is separate from the business.  Try to maintain your confidence, be of good cheer and live to fight again.  The rough patches will pass if you can manage to stay sane and calm through it all.  It is called the “teething period;”things are bound to change for the better with time and patience.
  • Exercise a balance between business and family: If you can strike a good balance between taking care of yourself, family and the business, you will avoid feeling the guilt that you gave too much to your work.  Work out a manageable schedule and routine for family times, meal times, outings, home chores and so forth.  This will enable you to live a full and happy life.
  • Stay Focused and Disciplined: Your business will give back to you almost exactly what you put into it.  If you have put in much time, much money and effort in advertisements, study and hard work; it will definitely pay you back sooner than later.
  • Patience and persistence will lead to breakthroughs: starting and growing a business is not for the faint hearted, for it is never easy.  The way might not always be smooth, as there is bound to be some hard periods, dry spells, the highs and the lows.  Take courage because this will not continue forever; your business will not fizzle out, it will thrive and give you great joy if you remain patient.  If you are able to hang in there for as long as it takes, the success will be all the sweeter as you will one day look back and be glad you waited.
  • Keep the eyes on the prize: even with home and family trying to pull you from the goals you set for the business, remain focused and your eyes firmly fixed on the prize.  You must try to achieve your targets by all means.  Refuse to be swayed by passing whims.  Your business deserves nurturing just the same way you nurture your family and your own body.  Feed it with tender loving care.  Give it your attention when it matters, set goals, schedules, targets, deadlines and stick to them.
  • Give the business a prominent place in your life: Do not treat your home business as a mere hobby to be attended to only when you feel like it.  Force yourself to appear at your work station and put in good work for the day, each new day.  Begin to picture your business as a success and refuse to give up.  Do not lose sight of your set goals and standards you desire for your business.  Write them down and strive to achieve them by evaluating your performance from time to time.  Reward your successes and do not rest on your laurels when you notice laxity.  Always strive for higher achievements.
  • Always give your best: Your business also deserves the best you can give it.  Nothing is more rewarding and satisfying than the sweet success that comes after hard work and a lot of sweat. If all businesses were easy, there would be more billionaires.  Know that as you keep striving toward success, your moment of breakthrough and success is just around the corner.

Running a successful home based business and motivation? run together together hand in hand.

When it comes to running a successful home business you will want to muster up as much motivation as you can to get you through the leans times that hit every new business. Doing that of course is easier said than done but don’t let that keep you from making it happen anyways. Your future profits depend upon it.
