You Can Change

You can’t change your entire life.

You can only change your next action.

You can’t change a relationship with a loved one.

You can only change your next interaction.

You can’t change your entire job.

You can only change your next task.

You can’t change your body composition.

You can only change your next meal.

You can’t change your fitness level.

You can only start moving.

You can’t declutter your entire life.

You can only choose to get rid of one thing, right now.

You can’t eliminate your entire debt.

You can only make one payment, or buy one less unnecessary item.

You can’t change the past, or control the future.

You can only change what you’re doing right now.

You can’t change everything.

You can only change one, small thing.

Trick to productivity is decide what you want to work on other then in the moment and then practice that high value work it over and over again until it is natural, habitual and becomes auto pilot and engages.

Direct and place your mind and direction on your breathe, notice how long you concentrate on that until your mind switches back onto autopilot and you are aware with the fairies.  We need to practice putting our body mind on autopilot directed to where we want to go.

1.  Focus on what you want to create not what you want to avoid.  We are twice as motivated to avoid something bad happening, by fear compared  to the motivation by our desires or our goals.  This is more of a challenge to overcome as we are unconsciously thinking about what we don’t want to do rather than what we do want to do.

We can’t get somewhere if you are avoiding where you don’t want to go.  You could end up anyway.

2.  Focus on what produces the most value not what produces the most busyness.

We confuse busyness and activity with results.  Busyness and activity are two different things.  If at the end of the day you spent all your time effort and energy on being busy you may be surprised to see you have no results.  Learn which activities create the results  and which ones don’t and focus on the ones creating the results and not the ones keeping you busy.

3.  Focus your time in chunks of 90 to 120 minutes minimum and don’t multitask

If you don’t focus on one thing for a chunk of time you won’t get the results or make much progress.  If you are muti tasking which I have to say I am doing at the moment you won’t get the desired results.

4.  Focus on what will work in the future not what worked in the past

We don’t live in the time anymore where you can learn a job and just do that over and over again for 10, 20,30  40 years.  Things are constantly changing and evolving. Focus on producing value not just for now but for the future.  Greatest challenge is to manager ourselves and to do your new habit at the beginning of the day when you still have the willpower.

Focus on what will work in the future, not what worked in the past.

Quick And Easy Ways To Feel Happier

It is a choice as with anything in life as to whether we be happy or whether we allow the situations around us  dictate our moods.

I know as I work in a very stressful environment dealing with people 8 hours straight a day and I have had to learn how NOT to allow these people rob me of my joy.

I’m sure you have experienced days where you wake up in a bad mood and from then on in you have a bad day.  You know that if you don’t change your attitude it will carry through into all areas of your life.

Achieving a better state of mind is going to make a difference to the outcome of your day.  So much power is given over to us.  It is our decision our choice and I know it can be difficult but it is worth taking action and changing your mindset.

Our emotional dumps can spiral us downward and we then forget how good it feels to be happy.  Here are a couple of steps that you can implement that may help you.  Let me know.

1. Go for a walk.

I know you are at work but you are entitled to a break.  Get up out of your seat and go for a walk, doesn’t have to be a power walk just get out and get some fresh air.

Walking is a great form of exercise and I find a walk along the beach to be one of the most calming walks for me.

Find your place to go whether it’s in a natural environment with plants and birds or by the beach.  Take a moment then to notice the colours, the sky, the water the greenery, listen to the sounds of the birds, the ocean, the animals.  Feel the sunlight shining and allow it to brighten up your soul and spirit.  Breath deeply, shake it off and smile.

2. Listen to quality music.

I found a great site the other day that you can play whilst working at home, check it out.  Music, it can life your spirits instantly.  Think of a song right now that makes you happy and notice how different you feel as you hum along.  Create yourself a cd or download music onto your ipod that you love and makes you happy.   When you feel yourself spiralling downwards put on some music and enjoy.

3. Be creative, discover something new and different.

Create a bucket list, write it up, add some pictures and begin to take action to achieve these things.  Be creative take up something different like an art class, cooking class or scrapbooking.  Visit the local library and get a great book to read.  Books are wonderful and so full of knowledge, wisdom and ideas.  Make a date with yourself on a monthly basis to do something different and share the experience with others.


4. Have a good laugh

Laughter triggers a lot of healthy physical changes in the human body. It helps the pituitary gland release its own pain-suppressing opiates.

When was the last time you threw back your head and roared out loud? When was the last time you threw back your head and roared out loud?

The ability to enjoy and laugh frequently is a tremendous resource for good living, enhancing relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.

Go to youtube and search for funny videos that will get you started.

5. Simple breathing meditation.

Your breath is a powerful and simple way to anchor yourself in the present moment. Whenever you are having a hard time staying in the now, take deep breaths, and focus on your breathing.  This is something you can do anywhere at anytime.  Take time out to close your eyes and breath deeply in and out.  That’s all there is to it. Do this for 10-15 minutes. Notice how pleasantly surprised you can be at how you feel afterward.

6. Doodling for the fun of it.

Most people can remember when they were young and used to doodle for hours. Kids love drawing silly little pictures. Drawing is not just for kids or artists. Whoever you are get some pens, pencils, crayons or whatever you have and just draw for the fun of it. Notice how your state of mind shifts.

7. Think of others less fortunate.

Thinking of others helps us to humble ourselves and see our situation in a different way.  Do a good deed and offer a helping hand to someone who is less fortunate than yourself.

Doing good deed and helping others who are less fortunate is not only a good way to make your soul feel giddy, but also a way to have karma bless you with the opportunity to find you. Meeting other people whose lives are vastly different from your own can help you see the world from a new perspective and open your eyes to how fortunate you really are.

Do some research and find a cause that is close to your heart and begin to support them in whatever capacity you can.  I helped create .

These are all pretty simple. There’s nothing profound or life changing, but when all you need is a quick pick me up these may be just the thing you need.  So what are you waiting for?  Love to hear what you have done and if it has helped you out.

As a leader, owning your mistakes is your greatest opportunity to learn and grow.

All of us will have opportunities to admit that we’ve been wrong.

A careless word, a thoughtless action, a missed opportunity, a self-serving act; they just happen.

When we realize we are wrong, how we react will often define our character.  When pride sets in, it can become difficult to admit our mistakes or apologize, and because of this, the most common reaction for many people is to respond angrily or defensively.

When you deliver an apology make sure you are sincere and often requires you explaining what happened and why.  With any mistake, no matter how small, there is a way to prevent it from happening again so be aware it is very empowering.

Practice honesty whenever you are confronted with truth.  You will not only feel more comfortable when people tell you are wrong but you will get better at admitting it and not only that… It is one of the most liberating experiences. You get better not by trying to be better but by being honest. That’s the core of a good heart!

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.—1 John 1:7-9 NLT

When I am weak, You are strong

Do you feel strong in your weakness?  The pain we may all experience, that can be found in our weak times, although challenging, can be rewarding when all is said and done. It may not seem like it while you are going through the pain, but power is made perfect in our weakness.

Be Brave when you are scared.

Although we can’t always see the big picture of why we go through the things we go through, it truly is for our best interest and we will only become stronger for having gone through our trials, if we allow God’s power to be made perfect in our weakness.

How Can You Soar With Eagles

You know that old saying if you want to soar with Eagles then don’t hang with turkeys?

It’s Time to Get Your Feet Off the Ground and start soaring.

If you are an eagle, it can be a challenge to soar high when you are spending your time with heavy-bodied turkeys who can hardly get off the ground.

Soon, your own flight muscles will atrophy.

When you do take flight, you will easily tire, your ability to navigate will be rusty, and your skills at reading the wind and soaring on them will diminish.

Additionally, your self-confidence will be shaken. You will start to identify more with turkeys than with eagles.

Can you identify with this?  Take a moment to really assess where you are and where you want to be.  If you want to soar high then you need to look at who you are hanging with.  Sometimes life gets so busy we don’t stop to have a look at where are influence is coming from.

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a turkey.  These people are happy and content with who they are and where they are headed.  They don’t need wings to fly, life is good.  We all need turkeys in our lives.

If you have aspirations to fly then you need to source out the people who will help you learn to do so.   You need to learn to stretch your  wings, take a fall or two but get back up again and see that it is possible because those you are now flying with have done it all before.

As you learn keep looking up to see who is soaring above you and continue to learn and you will soar higher as well.

Shiny Objects

Shiny Objects

We have been distracted by them  …. that next shiny object which takes us off the path that we were on.  I am certainly guilty of  it. When it seems all difficult we look at a way of making easier or so it seems.

Maybe by being connected on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, youtube, pinterest, google hangout, webinar, instagram, blog, squeeze page etc will make me more money.  Wrong!

Think about the 80/20 principle.

80% of your results will come from 20% of your efforts so if you are doing all of these things how do you even know what the 20% is.

I’m preaching to myself here.  I have so got off track it is not funny.  They pull to be in the next best thing, you know it’s ground floor, get in know get the overflow, over-spill, do nothing,  bla bla bla, etc etc etc.

So how do you get back on track!

  • Decided what the goal is you are trying to achieve!

  • Ask yourself the questions,

  1. Will this benefit my business?
  2. How will this accomplish my long term goal?
  3. Is the timing right?
  4. Why do I want to do this?
  5. How much time effort and energy will it take to get this next thing happening?
  6. Will it make me any money?
  7. Is it in line with my goals, values, vision?
  • If you come up with a no then, unsubscribe yourself from the email list, facebook group, unfriend the person or the group or the page.

  • Remove the distraction!!!!

  • Stay focused and don’t give up you will make it :)
